End of EYFS Assessment
GLD stands for a "good level of development" and refers to children achieving the required standard in:
Communication and Language
Personal, social and emotional development
Physical development
Literacy
Mathematics
Phonics Screening Check
In Year 1, children are screened for their phonic knowledge to assess their early reading development.
"The purpose of the phonics screening check is to confirm that all children have learned phonic decoding to an age appropriate standard."
Year 4 Multiplication Check
This ICT based assessment is completed around June each year.
"The purpose of the MTC is to determine whether year 4 pupils can fluently recall their multiplication tables."
End of Key Stage 2 (SATs)
At the end of Year 6, the children are tested on the Key Stage 2 curriculum. There are tests in English Reading, Mathematics (Arithmetic and Reasoning) and Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (also known as SPAF or GPS). Teachers assess the pupils attainment in writing based on a range of samples produced by the pupils.
